Michael J Fox's new TV Show

Michael J. Fox will star in a new TV show starting Thursday, September 26th at 8 PM on NBC. It promises to increase the awareness of the public of Parkinson's Disease as well as being very entertaining.

Driving Safely with Parkinson's

The American Automobile Association (AAA) has a Self Rating Form on its website

We all know that Parkinson's can affect our ability to drive safely. This website allows you to do a self evaluation of your driving ability. There is no cost and the site is available to everyone.

Thinking About Increasing Your Exercise? Consider the Proven Benefits of Tai Chi on PD Patients

The New England Journal of Medicine recently reported on the superior balance gained by those PD patients who practiced Tai Chi during a six month study.

When does the group meet?

The regular schedule is from 7:00-8:30pm on the 4th Wednesday of every month
-changes may be made to accomodate holidays

-As always, snacks and sweets are appreciated. Just bring whatever you would like.
Where does the group meet?

The group meets in the Courtyard Room of the John Wesley United Methodist Church.

-The church is in the Champions subdivision on FM 1960 West. The address is 5830 Bermuda Dunes Drive, Houston, 77069.

-It is on the NE corner of the intersection of Bermuda Dunes and Paradise Valley. If you get to FM 1960 West and Champion Forest drive, Bermuda Dunes is the second traffic light north of FM 1960. Turn left (west) and go 3 or 4 short blocks. The Church will be on your right. You come to the parking lot first. If you go in the door facing the parking lot and closest to Bermuda Dunes, (it is labeled "Visitor Information") just go straight and you come to the Courtyard Room on your right.

Guest Speaker Presentation (Excellent!)

What other PD services are offered at John Wesley Church?

There are actually a number of services offered at John Wesley Church which may be of interest to people dealing with Parkinsons as follows (There is no cost for any of these):

-Our monthly support group meeting on the 4th Wednesday in the Courtyard Room at 7 PM

-Speech Therapy every Thursday at 10:30 to 11:30 AM in room A106

-Tai Chi (one of easiest and best exercise for Parkinson's people) every Wednesday at 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the Boy Scout Building
